GWERU-The trial of the Midlands Provincial Mining Director, Tariro Ndhlovu who is allegedly facing abuse of office and duty has failed to kick off today, Thursday 08 September 2022
The Mid Week Watch could not ascertain the circumstances behind the failure of the trial at the Gweru Magistrate’s Courts
Yesterday in a comment , the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission in a report confirmed the arrest of Ndhlovu ( 53) who was charged for contravening section 174 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act(abuse of duty).
Information obtained by this publication however reveal that, in 2014 Ndlovu presided over a gold mining dispute involving two parties and ruled in favour of another party.
The complainant (name not supplied) appealed to the Minister of Mines who reversed Ndhlovu’s ruling.
The Minister’s ruling was further upheld in 2015 by the High Court which ordered the reinstatement of the complainant’s mining rights.
Instead of enforcing the court orders the Ndhlovu went on to write letters in favour of the party whom he had earlier on awarded mining rights.
It is suspected that Ndhlovu was conniving with the Ministry’s lawyer.
